Rockabilly party sends off the summer in style

We definitely made the most of the final days of summer with our Rockabilly End of Summer Party in the town square.

We wanted to do something a bit different to round things off so we settled on a 1950s rockabilly theme in recognition of the influence it’s had on the style of food Firebrand has grown from, resulting in Cornish BBQ.

As ever we wanted the event to bring whole families together. Toddlers and children played with giant Jenga and noughts and crosses as their parents enjoyed drinks from Firebrand Brewing Co, Penpont Brewery and Clio’s Van du Vin. Our own chefs cooked up a mouth-watering combination of 1950s food and Cornish BBQ made from quality local ingredients.

Bude Jive Club showed the crowds how to dance and live music from rockabilly bands Los Limpos and Delta 88 provided the opportunity to put their new knowledge into practice.

Although that’s the last of the summer festivals in the square, we’ve got loads more events coming throughout the rest of the year. You can subscribe to get Facebook notifications as they’re added. We’re screening free films for kids and adults on Sundays and our week-long Oktoberfest beer festival kicks off today in the restaurant.
