Head chef Eddie Thomson has a wealth of experience in the Cornish restaurant scene and trained under Rick Stein. Having earned his previous restaurant a place in the Good Food Guide, he decided the time was right to team up with brother Joe to launch Firebrand Bar & Restaurant and indulge his love for American soul food and big chunks of top quality meat.
Eddie gets his pork from rare breed pigs raised on the Penpont Brewery farm and fed on the mash left over from the brewing process. Other meat is purchased from Launceston butcher Philip Warren. Fish is sourced from Matthew Stevens and milk and cheese from Trewithen Dairy.
Seasonal dishes appear on the frequently-changing specials board, with a particular focus on seafood and fish.
We cater for coeliacs, vegetarians and vegans as standard and offer a choice of a gluten free bun for all our burgers. We are pleased to meet other dietary needs on request – please contact us to discuss them.
Children are very welcome at Firebrand Bar & Restaurant and our kids’ menu is made with the same high quality local produce as its adult equivalent. Crayons and games are offered to keep children entertained and high chairs are available.
